Giloy is scientifically known as Tinospora Cordifolia, called Guduchi in Hindi. Giloy's stem is said to be particularly useful because to its high nutritive value and alkaloids, although the root & leaves can also be employed.

Giloy is among the principal bitter-tasting plants, according to a Charak Samhita shloka. It is used to treat a variety of ailments and aids in the relief of Vata & Kapha dosha.

Because of its heart-shaped leaves & crimson fruit, Giloy is also known as Heart-leaved Moonseed.
