GUGGUL

Guggul is a tiny shrub or tree with thick bark & thorny branches that grows to be around 6 metres tall. Guggul trees are noted for its sticky resin, which may be tapped or extracted from the tree's bark. Guggul trees are tapped in November to January in order to harvest the gum or resin in May and June.

Guggul trees produce 700 to 900 g of gums or resin each year. Guggul is a Sanskrit word that meaning "to shield from sickness." The plant's resin has been demonstrated to help balance doshas like Vata & Kapha. The resin does have a distinct aroma, and when sprinkled over a hot coal, it produces a dense, aromatic smoke.

As a result, it's utilised to make dhoop & essence sticks. Guggul plant contains a mixture of phytochemicals like steroids, gum, flavonoids, lignan, essential oil, myrrhanol, guggulsterone, and guggulipids are used in treating various diseases.
